Harley Davidson Las Vegas: Entrance Barrier Project

Harley-Davidson is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1903 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Most people are familiar with the brand and its iconic motorcycles.

Because of the brand’s fan base, and the store’s location adjacent to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the Harley Davidson dealership on Las Vegas Boulevard gets just as much foot traffic from local Harley riders as they do from tourists who just want a closer look at the bikes or to pick up a some swag for the trip home.

Normally, lots of foot traffic is a good thing. But as sometimes is the case, there can be too much of a good thing. Apparently, after closing hours, the very open and very empty Harley Davidson parking lot is very tempting for tourists who want to take a picture in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, but don’t want to fight the traffic in the small parking lot.

Tourists parking in the Harley Davidson lot would have four lanes of traffic to cross, but as the saying goes… What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so for quite a few of them, a little illegal jaywalking isn’t much of an obstacle.

We installed two 32 foot entrance barriers to secure both entrances of the Las Vegas Boulevard parking lot. I’m sure this will be a disappointment for many future visitors to the city, but chances are it won’t last as one the memories they take home with them.
