Lion Habitat Ranch
382 Brunuer Avenue, Henderson, NV 89044 (702) 595-6666
When you think of the big cats, the first thing that probably comes to mind is Siegfried and Roy. However, if you’re into big cats, the Lion Habitat Ranch is one of the Henderson activities we highly recommend. Located near Saint Rose Parkway and South Las Vegas Boulevard, it’s easy access and should be your go to option for big cat watching.
There are quite a few cats on display and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. You can purchase tickets online or in person, however, if you’re partial to in person purchasing it’s still a good idea to call ahead. During the height of the pandemic, walk-in access was unfortunately unavailable. As of this publication, walk-ins were again available, but better safe than sorry.
While this is primarily a Lion Habitat, make sure to take time to enjoy the Ozzie show. Ozzie is their young giraffe who just happens to paint. His works of art that are available for purchase in the gift shop.
The Lion Ranch is a fun family friendly outing and you’re sure to generate plenty of memories should you decide to feed Ozzie and the lions. One last perk. They’re into birthdays. If it is your birthday and you’ll admission is free as long as you have prove it’s really your birthday!

331 S Water St, Henderson, NV 89015 (702) 769-8707
We included this one to add a something for the science inclinded. A trip to the Science Center is one of those Henderson activities that’s easy to overlook. If you mention science and small children, most Valley residents immediately think of the Discovery Children’s Museum.
That’s understandable, but the Nevada Science Center is worth noting. The Nevada Science Center is a non-profit that’s “dedicated to delivering science education and learning opportunities to the public by integrating active research with engaging educational programs.”
They’re a little more “science-y” than you may need but still worth paying attention to. Visit their website or give them a call for the latest activities.
