Tournament Hills Fencing Project: Laser Cut Metal Panels

We recently received a call from the folks at Tournament Hills to install a decorative laser-cut metal panel fence behind the guard shack at the entrance to their community in Summerlin. The area is used by their utility personnel for golf carts and other equipment storage. From an aesthetic point of view, it really didn’t add to the surroundings.

The project area is at the entrance to the property. With such high visibility, looks were just as important as security. A standard black ornamental iron fence would have provided security but done nothing for the aesthetics. The solution we recommended was a decorative fence consisting of laser cut metal panels. The panels measured a standard 4 by 8 feet and 3/16th inches thick. We encased the panels with 2 inch top and bottom rails and installed a manual rolling gate since a swing gate wouldn’t be practical at that location.

The owners considered a two-tone paint scheme with the panels being dark bronze and the rails in black, but eventually decided on a more toned-down black-on-black scheme to help the feature remain more of a background fixture. At the end of the day this may have been a case of less is more as simply installing decorative laser-cut metal panels are a perfect choice when the goal is to add a touch of elegance and sophistication to a property.
